Severus is tall but tends to stand with his shoulders slouched as if to hide. His hair is most of the time greasy from being inside potions making although others just think its� because he�s poor. That also explains his pale complexion as he avoids the sun at all costs. That has lead to many a rumor of him secretly being a vampire.
Severus�s father not wanting to spend money on anything having to do with magic leads to Severus�s rather shabby school attire. His clothes are mostly too large and well worn. He does his best to mend and resize them with the little money he is given to go away to school with. Off school hours he wears all black. Mainly because black hides the worn look.

Severus was a loner on Spinner�s End until the day he met Lily Evans. He could talk to her about almost anything. Anything except his abuse suffered at the hands of his father. But that didn�t matter when he was with Lily. She made everything better. It was even more amazing than he could imagine when they both got letters to Hogwarts.
When they were sorted not even being in enemy houses could keep them apart. Severus being a Slytherin didn�t change Lily wanting to be his friend. That act of kindness made Severus love her even more. As the years went on that love grew. Then one day it was all dashed. Mad at another humiliating run in with the Marauders Severus lashed out at Lily who was only trying to help but he was to angry to see it. He called her a mudblood and from then on their friendship was over.
Severus did the only thing he knew to do. He hid and buried himself in his school work. It was this that brought him to the attention of the dark lord and his followers namely Lucius Malfoy. He was recruited by Lucius and over the summer marked. He only awaits his next order from the dark lord. He sees his dark mark and wonders what might have been.

Severus was born in Cokeworth England but was raised in Spinner�s End. He was born to a witch mother and muggle father. Severus always had a feeling his father wished him not to be magical as was his mother. It made him wonder why he even married her. Then again she was a beautiful woman witch or not. When his parents would fight he would hear Tobias say that Eileen had somehow bewitched him into marrying her. It was nonsense but the words of a drunk fool. The man couldn�t make something of himself so he blamed his wife for not using her magic to help him. It would have sent her to Azkaban had she done so. Misuse of magic. It would be why Severus didn�t drink.
Severus was almost overjoyed when he met Lily. Then again he also met Petunia which would have ruined anyone�s life. Thankfully Petunia thought them both weird and found other friends to play with. Severus could talk to Lily about anything except his abuse at home. He didn�t want to ruin their time together. When she got her letter to Hogwarts he thought he would be alone until he got his. His owl with his letter had gotten stuck in his chimney. Thankfully they found the bird before his father did.
Severus loved Hogwarts. The only bad part being in a different house than his best friend Lily. It mattered no because she remained his friend. Severus couldn�t decide which was his favorite place the library or the potions classroom. He took to potion making like a fish to water. After a few tweaks here and there as the years went by of his schooling. Thanks to the Marauders he also learned a lot of defensive spells. He didn�t know why they chose to pick on him. Then he realized Potter wanted Lily and the others were just in it to be bullies. They wouldn�t have to long before they broke up he and Lily. In a fit of rage he called her a mudblood and like that it was over. Years of friendship washed away.
Severus buried himself in his schoolwork and promised himself no one would ever humiliate him like that. It was then that he caught the attention of Lucius Malfoy. He found Lucius radiated power and he wanted it. He wanted to teach anyone who would mess with him that they wouldn�t like the outcome. It wasn�t long before he was taken before the dark lord with Lucius at his side and marked. It would be the beginning of him becoming a new Severus Snape. One who wouldn�t take anymore humiliation from the marauders or anyone else.

Severus had enough of the marauders doing things to humiliate him and walking away unscathed. Just the thought of McGonagall letting them get off Scot free once again was enough to make his blood boil. He was sure he would one day burst into flames from it. He had been so angry he went to his head of house. Slughorn of course did nothing. Severus wondered why he was even the head of Slytherin other than to get favors from pureblood families. The man cared nothing for the Slytherin�s outside of what he could get out of it. Severus having nothing meant he got no help.
He went to Headmaster Dumbledore but the old man of course only gave him some speech about getting along and Severus letting his envy or jealousy get in the way. Severus was sure his head had exploded and he heard wrong. He had to bite the side of his cheek to keep the profanities from rushing past his lips. He really wanted to let the old man have it.
When Dumbledore was done giving his speech about school unity and letting go of the past Severus had his say.
�Headmaster Dumbledore, I will remember this as the day you showed your true Gryffindor colors. Your bias will one day be your undoing. It is sad to see that the gold and crimson of Gryffindor have blinded you to the pain and suffering the Gryffindor four have caused. May god have mercy on your Gryffindor soul because you will receive non from me.�
With that he turned and in what would be his signature move left in a swirl of robes looking like a great big bat.
