Sirius Orion Black

INTRODUCTIONS
FULL NAME: Sirius Orion Black
NICKNAMES: Padfoot/Pads/Si
AGE: Seventeen
ALLEGIANCE: Gryffindor/Order
PROFESSION OR YEAR GROUP: 7th
SKIN DEEP
DESIRED PB: Ian Somerhalder
HEIGHT: 6”0
KEY FEATURES: Strikingly attractive, Black family features & wolfish grin
DESCRIPTION:
Sirius is by all accounts good looking. The ancient house of Black is well known for its aristocratic good looks and distinguishing dark, regal features. In fact, as far as Sirius is concerned, his genetics are one of very few positive contributions from his family. At times he may certainly exaggerate this through playful arrogance, but arguably it is biological fact. Thick dark hair, smokey grey eyes and a well defined bone structure are features with which Sirius and his estranged pureblood family are blessed.
At 6’0” and still on the up, Sirius is well built and can easily burn through a mountain of food and never see the effects. Casual quidditch practices and monthly jaunts as Padfoot certainly helped but by nature he is and had always been slim.
Sirius is more than happy in his Gryffindor robes, parading his colours is a constant and irritating reminder of his defection to his extended relatives. Outside of class however he tends to dress well but casual, in dark monochrome shades of loose fitting shirts and jackets teamed with jeans more often than not. Occasionally he’ll suit up, or don dress robes, but he prefers casual grunge. He is effortlessly well dressed but it is not something that he puts too much thought into. Sirius is arrogant yes, but not vein - he wouldn’t dwell over fashion choices because he truly believes he could pull off anything well.
PERSONALITY
LIKES:
Mischief – anything from winding people up to casually mapping the mysteries of Hogwarts purely for the purposes of more mischief.
Quidditch – To watch or practice for fun more than anything, Sirius doesn’t take it too seriously and lacks the commitment to train like James, yet he wouldn’t miss a game. Chanting banter at their opposition is always fun, particularly when Slytherin are tailing.
Magic – Sirius has always had a flare for it, particularly Charms and Transfiguration. Naturally he’s more concerned with using those abilities for illegal magic than his actual qualifications.
Muggles – More an overlap from his rebellious streak, he loves muggle artefacts and experimenting with their reaction to magic. Again, illegally.
Adventure – Fun, danger, mischief - fulfilled monthly at least, thanks to his furriest friend.
Girls – Although largely indifferent to the constant attention, which seems inexplicably to further their interest, Sirius does benefit from the perks. Arrogant, fun seeking, non- committal and sixteen afterall – Sirius enjoys the attention when it suits him.
Bellyrubs – Self explanatory really. Kitchen scraps and bone throwing also suffice for Padfoot.
DISLIKES: Pureblood elitism; his family; dark magic; anyone associated with those; any form of structure or discipline; when first years steal his breakfast spot.
STRENGTHS: Loyal, intelligent and confident.
WEAKNESSES: A rrogant, short attention span, emotionally reserved.
BOGGART: Losing his new found ‘family’ of marauders
PATRONUS: First summer at the Potters
DESCRIPTION:
Sirius doesn’t make it obvious to everyone, but he is truly a puppy at heart. Easy going, fun loving, loyal and brave, he’s man’s best friend. Unfortunately he’s also an utter prat often and sometimes downright detestable. To his enemies he can hurl a torrent of abuse and in retribution, be cruel and violent. To easy targets like Snape for instance, he could be mercilessly mean in taking out the anger he had against his family on a boy who to him represented all the elitism and dark art fascination of his Family.
Even to people he quite likes he can be annoying, playful teasing and banter which bounces of self-assured individuals such as himself or James could genuinely hurt the more sensitive type. This is particularly a problem with women as he is prone to taking flirtatious teasing too far. On the other hand he has an easy charm and wit which doesn’t help to dampen his appeal to the opposite sex. The combination of these traits often leads to his complete ignorance of hurt feelings.
Another trait which could go either way is his arrogance. Being brought up as pureblood aristocracy will give most a haughty sense of entitlement and whilst Sirius, as the Black sheep of his family, has no such elitist belief system, it is visible in the way he holds himself. Certainly, he had come to hate everything that his family stood for and would never assume himself above another because of his bloodline, yet the few years he had as the golden child of a noble house has given him his deep-rooted arrogance. Some find that endearing, others not so much.
In truth, beneath the haughty exterior are many insecurities and issues, a rather damaged soul in fact, but he has a solid determination to hide any scar that his family may have given him emotionally for prides sake. This has meant that Sirius often resists expressing his emotions and thinks to do so would be weak. Few have been treated to his inner torment and it rarely surfaced. Hence his self assured, fun loving attitude – just to spite his family further.

BIOGRAPHY:
Sirius was the first born to a wealthy family. He was a handsome, intelligent boy who quickly began to demonstrate a natural flare for magic, to the delight of his parents. Even before he could talk they began dreaming of the man their perfect pureblood heir would be and discussing his options for marriage with other prestigious families. Sirius was certainly the golden child for his early years, spoilt and showered with praise constantly. He was often forced into small dress robes and paraded around aristocratic gatherings, though given any opportunity, no matter how tiny the window, the young boy would attempt escape and often explore the area around him and befriend the local muggle children. Even then, Sirius was clever enough not to demonstrate his abilities or mention any friendship to his parents. These encounters were the first seeds of doubt for the young Sirius that perhaps his parents were not totally correct in their prejudice.
His later years as the elder son of Walbuger and Orion Black saw Sirius shift from beloved golden child to an embarrassing, ill disciplined problem. When he became old enough to realise just how warped and disturbed his family’s socio-political views and dark magic involvement actually were, Sirius began to rebel and took every opportunity to air his opinion and embarrass his short-fused mother.
The serious problems for them began when Sirius first attended Hogwarts and within a day had defied the institution of an all Slytherin House of Black and befriended blood traitors and mudbloods alike. As a brave, proud, arrogant but inherently good and loyal soul, Sirius was inevitably a Gryffindor. Howlers, threats and abuse were hurled at him from the vast majority of his relatives but Sirius was happier than he had been in a long time.
The summer that followed was the worst, he suffered volatile outbursts of abuse and prolonged periods of silent treatment from his parents. Even Regulus whom Sirius was sure shared many of his ideals, would not speak to him for fear of similar treatment. For a twelve year old child, it was a traumatic rejection that would haunt him with deeply hidden emotions for his entire life. Sirius was, however, far too proud to react to this torment and instead rebelled further each summer, engaging in short but highly public romances with local muggle girls, decorating his room with muggle objects such as posters of their sports, vehicles or bikini clad women, and strongly displaying his Gryffindor colours with banners and Quidditch memorabilia.
Polar opposite to these experiences were his years at Hogwarts, which became increasingly enjoyable. Sirius was effortlessly passing his classes, highly popular and fawned over by countless girls, a fact he was highly aware but largely indifferent to when he felt like it, more interested in wreaking mischief. Sirius had grown incredibly close to his friends at Hogwarts; James, Remus and Peter in particular. The four boys took to each other quickly and, after a certain deduction, the friends shared a secret and a monthly adventure which only resulted in them growing ever closer.
Sirius’ Fifth year at Hogwarts saw him give up on his family altogether, a sentiment they happily reciprocated. James Potter and his family gave him the opportunity to truly cut all ties and he hadn’t looked back since.
SAMPLE POST:
Sunny weather was a rarity for Hogwarts. The country had not experienced a particularly pleasant summer and autumn seemed to promise a particularly brutal winter. Today was no exception as Sirius rose to pouring rain and bitter cold.
It was much harder to force oneself to rise to such gloomy circumstance. The usual pattern for weekends tended to be Remus waking extra early for study and James for practice, whilst Sirius would follow late morning when the three would meet for breakfast. Peter would not emerge until sometime after noon, oblivious to this routine, and the four would then commence with organised chaos then. Breakfast always came first.
Sirius dragged himself out of bed reluctantly. The previous night had been a particularly late one pursuing a fifth year Ravenclaw girl in the library. It was one of few circumstances which would lead to Sirius being caught in such a place. He had actually gone to the trouble of completing his homework purely for an excuse for conversation after spotting her in the corridor. Sirius could not say if the effort was worth it in the end, but he knew he wouldn’t be bothering again anytime soon.
After a quick wash and throwing on some fresh clothes, Sirius headed down the stairs to the Common Room. Another irritating side affect of dismal weather was the vastly crowded living spaces and corridors. As Sirius began his decent to the Great Hall, he found it was highly necessary to brutally clear a path of lost, confused first years loitering the halls or jumping on and off staircases and giggling as they shifted beneath them. What should have been short journey dragged excessively because of this.
When he finally did make it he quickly grabbed a seat and cleared the surrounding first years who hadn’t quite grasped the age order of the table. Sirius didn’t mind specifically where he sat as long as it was in vicinity to one of the larger trays of bacon.
As he sat buttering toast and waiting on his close friends, he noticed several girls at the Hufflepuff table watching him, whispering and giggling. For Sirius, this was a regular occurrence. He had learned that girls like this came from all houses and tended to travel in packs, many of which had taken to following him around the school on occasion. The marauder’s map was an excellent resource for escaping them in such circumstance. Although he had no desire to encourage this behaviour, it could be entertaining to play with them every once and a while. This morning he treated them to a wink and a grin, which unsurprisingly lead to high pitch squealing and blushing and earned them a multitude of disapproving stares around the breakfast hall.
Quickly bored of that, Sirius grabbed a Daily Prophet and began catching up with some national Quidditch results.
