DESCRIPTION:
Lucius Malfoy has a certain presence. The way he looks, dresses and acts tends to give any company in which he finds himself the feeling that they are somehow inferior. This of course is the natural pride or arrogance of aristocratic families. Families like the Malfoys have a long history in the magical community, one which demands the acknowledgment and the respect of all wizards. Lucius embodies the very spirit of pureblood elitism in his personality.
Since his childhood, Lucius has been charming and charismatic, and learned the skills of subtle manipulation and persuasion from his father. His talent for schmoozing served him well, both as a valuable asset for Voldemort’s cause and as a way of maintaining his respectable mask to the public. He has a natural ability and determination to get what he wants and an aptitude for discovering just how to exploit the desires and weaknesses of individuals in order to achieve it.
This manipulative nature extends to his personal life, in other words his dealings with the opposite sex. Lucius often tests the line between seduction and manipulation. As with anything, he is good at getting what he wants. He very much enjoys the attention his reputation grants him, there are many women hoping to attract the interests of a wealthy, respectable and attractive pureblood heir. Or perhaps that is merely his own arrogance. Happy as he is to take advantage of this regularly, the women who truly earned his genuine attention were those who proved more difficult to impress.

BIOGRAPHY:
The Malfoys are an ancient, aristocratic pureblood family and Lucius very much embodies the stereotypical characteristics of his family in his appearance, his behavior and the decisions he has made. As the only son in one of the richest, largest and most ancient pureblood families, Lucius was to some extent spoilt throughout his childhood, both materialistically and with over attentive parents. Whatever he wanted he got, something he had gotten very used to, and he was constantly praised and doted on. This certainly molded his personality for the future; arrogance, vanity and a feeling of self-entitlement all stemmed from an over-indulgent childhood. By the time he reached Hogwarts he had already developed a large ego and a powerfully demanding attitude.
Despite being an only child, Lucius was rarely short of company when he was younger. His family home entertained guests on a regular basis and Lucius was often expected to spend much of his time at social family events or accompanying his father on both business and social matters. There were usually young cousin, distant relatives or a family friend for him to play with. For this reason he had already made the ‘correct’ company by the time he started his first year at Hogwarts, and immediately found himself not only popular with his fellow students but also a natural leader. As expected, the sorting hat barely touched the young Malfoy’s head when he, just like every Hogwarts attendee member of his family before him, was sorted swiftly and certainly into Slytherin house.
His family values, the company he found himself and the politics of the time meant that Lucius had an extremely important decision to make at a very young age. There was talk among the magical community of a dark force offering change and reform. Lucius had grown up listening to stories of how his ancestors received persecution from a race too inferior to do them any harm; muggles who tried to murder and burn magical individuals, and managed to force wizards into hiding. The Dark Lord offered to rectify this, to take revenge and restore order. All the more temptingly, the Dark Lord offered power to his allies and damnation to anyone who did not stand with him. Lucius truly believed in pureblood supremacy but still thought long and hard on a decision he knew would affect the course of his entire life; an irreversible commitment of allegiance in an unstoppable war; a decision which would influence his family reputation, safety and security. If he joined early he would gain immeasurfavoravour when the dark lord took power, but if he failed and was defeated the Malfoy name could be tarnished foreUltimatelyatley, Lucius knew that if he waited he would miss an opportunity both to bring about the Dark Lord’s new society and to put himself in authority within it. Lucius Malfoy made the decision to join the Death Eaters in his fourth year of Hogwarts and it would be a long time before he had the luxury of looking back on that.
After committing himself to the Death Eaters, Lucius found the benefits were immediate. Yes, much was asked of him even in his first few years, but the respect and fear the rumorsmours of his allegiance provoked were reward enough. The Dark Lord himself was already impressed with Lucius’ commitment, devotion and skill. His father Abraxas had not asked for the dark mark himself, but his allegiances were made very clear and his pride in his son’s decision was obvious. As a highly respected member of the Wizengamot, Abraxas Malfoy had always planned to allow Lucius experience in the ministry with him with the intention of eventually securing him a job. With his new position with the Dark Lord, his father was even more eager to see Lucius have access and influence within the Ministry. Thus after graduating his seventh year of Hogwarts, Lucius started his new life, working for his father officially, and for the Dark Lord doing very dark things.
SAMPLE POST:
The nights were growing darker and the days shorter as autumn closed in on 1975. The magical community were still oblivious to the sheer size of the force which threatened them, but there was certainly an awareness and apprehension about the future already. People were reacting harshly to the reported incidents of murder and missing persons, with no idea of what was to come. Lucius knew exactly what they faced. He was working hard to deliver the threat to these unsuspecting idiots, and he was looking forward to it.
The greatest task with which he had been trusted outside the minitry was recruitment. The Dark Lord needed followers, and many were already actively seeking him out, but they particularly needed the younger generation of wizards. They had Death Eaters everywhere, but within Hogwarts their numbers were few. Dumbledore would be far too careful with members of staff, but Lucius knew he had a weakness for trusting his students. They already had many young devotees to the Dark Lord and a mass of support, but they needed a strong presence within the school which demanded greater numbers of high calibor of wizards.
Convincing students to join them had proved easier than he first imagined. Yes, there were many holding back for fear that their side would fail, but many of that age were eager to prove themselves and quick to jump into the decision. The Dark Lord's presence alone inspired loyalty, but fear of the punishment for defection was added insentive to keep followers in check. It was service for life, no exceptions. Once the magic touched your arm, that mark would be under your skin for a lifetime and there was no return. Lucius touched his own forearm tentitavely, feeling a pulse that was not his own.
So Lucius used his existing connections within the school to make potential candidates aware of their choice. He would not hide, hooded in a dingy establishment but nor could they risk being overheard in somewhere as public as the Three Broomsticks. Lucius set the meetings up out of reach of the crowded streets, stood in Hogsmeade station at the deserted platform which welcomed students annually but was rarely used by senior wizards. Anyone who wished to join the Dark Lord's cause would know where to seek him out. Sometimes he waited an hour and left without success, but more often then not, young prey would wander innocently in and Lucius was more than happy to exploit that.
