LILY HARRIET EVANS
[/center]
INTRODUCTIONS
FULL NAME: Lily Harriet Evans
NICKNAMES: Red, Evans, Lils, Flower
AGE: 17
ALLEGIANCE: Order of the Phoenix
PROFESSION OR YEAR GROUP: Seventh Year
SKIN DEEP
DESIRED PB: Karen Gillan
HEIGHT: 5'8
KEY FEATURES: Long, wavy red hair, almond shaped green eyes, light freckling, scars dotted on left elbow.
DESCRIPTION: The first thing anyone notices about Lily is her hair. It is naturally a vibrant shade of red, and falls in thick waves to her shoulders. It is very rare for her to tie it back, and she usually only does so for practical reasons, for example in Potions class. Below the frame of red is a rounded face, slightly pale as is typical with someone with red hair. She has quite full cheeks and obivous 'smile lines' when she smiles or laughs, though these expressions tend to be reserved for those who have really earned them. Her eyebrows are kept neatly arched, following the almond shape of her eyes, which are emerald green in colour. She has slightly thin lips, which are usually painted with a light, clear gloss. Her face is also covered with a faint smattering of freckles, which are more prominent when it's been sunny.
Lily is fairly tall, standing at 5'8, height which runs in their family. Unlike her sister Petunia, however, Lily is not built like a rake. She's hardly the curviest of girls walking around Hogwarts, but she does have a nicely defined waist. She dresses conservatively in general, usually in earthy tones like green, brown and red. During school hours, her robes are always perfect, tie straight and skirt knee-length, which she takes great pride in, especially now she's been named Head Girl. The badge denoting this sits polished on the right side of her robes. Her shoes have a small court heel, and she rarely if ever wears sneakers.
PERSONALITY
LIKES: Reading; pumpkin pie; Earl Grey tea; candlelight; magic; tutoring; the Library
DISLIKES: Thunderstorms; ignorance; discrimination; liqcourice; flying; unfairness; bullying;
STRENGTHS: Intelligent, loyal, honest
WEAKNESSES: Stubborn, short-tempered, less trusting than before
BOGGART: Of all things, Lily's biggest fear is something most people would consider ridiculous. A boggart for Lily would take the form of a lightning cloud spreading across the room; she is absolutely terrified of strong thunderstorms, and has been since she was a child.
PATRONUS: Lily's Patronus takes the form of a doe. The memory she used to use was that of finding out she was a witch when Severus Snape confided in her that he, too, could do magic. However, since their argument in Fifth Year and not having spoken properly since, that memory is now tainted for her, and no longer summons a fully-formed Patronus. Her happiest memory now is how proud her parents were when she was named Head Girl before starting her final year of Hogwarts.
DESCRIPTION:
Intelligent: In Muggle Primary school Lily was bullied for always being top of her class, but her parents made her truly believe it was simply down to jealousy, so she simply continued. She was accepted into a top Muggle grammar school, but obviously after receiving a visit informing her she had been accepted to Hogwarts she began applying her brains there. Though Lily is naturally very smart, she doesn't stay the top of their year group without effort. She studies regularly, including at weekends, and is very dedicated to her academic pursuits. Though she doesn't like all the company in the Slug Club she is pleased to be a part of it, especially since she is one of the few there on academic merit rather than because of the influence their family have in the magical world. She wants to join the Experimental Charms division of the Ministry after graduating Hogwarts, and needs very good NEWT grades to make this happen.
Proud: From a young age Lily was taught to be proud of who she was, and never to let anyone tell her otherwise. Lily has suffered teasing for many things - her hair colour, her height, her cleverness, her lack of athletic prowess - but none of that comes close to the ridicule from some Hogwarts students about her being Muggleborn. However, she is very proud that she can out-spell most, if not all, Pureblooded students in their year, which is one reasons she puts so much work into her essays etc. She has a reputation in the school now, and strives to maintain it as well as possible. She likes being a role model to the younger students, particularly now she's been Prefect and Head Girl, as well as acting as a tutor for students in the Fifth/Sixth years.
Stubborn: As a result of her pride, Lily is an extremely stubborn person. She has her own opinions that she truly believes in, and will argue her point with anyone who wants to. This does mean, however, she can have a very short temper, and when she does switch she is a force to be reckoned with. She will not apologise easily, as she finds it very hard to admit that she was wrong, even after rationally thinking about it and realising so. If she was right, however, she can hold a grudge, and if she's been personally offended she finds it difficult to forgive and forget, as she believes she would never cut that close to someone. This is even more true when she argues with someone she is very close to, as she does try to reign herself in when it is someone she cares about.
Fair: Despite occasionally holding personal grudges, Lily is extremely fair in the way she treats students as Head Girl. She knows the Marauders think she is particularly harsh on them, but the simple fact is they just happen to break more rules than any other student, so she has to be. She knows this is one of the reasons she was made Head Girl, and why she doesn't understand how James Potter has somehow made Head Boy, when she believes he will target Slytherin students more. Admittedly she takes a harsher tone with students she knows don't believe she even has a place in Hogwarts, but she would never deliver uneven punishment. When tutoring younger students, she always aims to praise and (constructively) criticise in equal measure, as she knows that is what helped her when she was going through exams.
Reserved: Up until Fifth Year, Lily was fairly open minded. She would talk to students from all houses if they were willing to, and readily made friends across the board, especially those she studied with. However, after the 'Mudblood incident' with Severus, Lily has become much more careful who she opens up and gets close to. She spends more time sat studying, and says it is simply because of NEWTs this year, but in truth it is because she doesn't want to get hurt like that again. Severus was her best friend, and him betraying her is one of her worst memories. Over the previous year, despite what many people think, she actually came around to the Marauders slightly without constantly being of Severus' side - one bespectacled member in particular who she never would have given the time of day to before. However, she will not act on this, as she is scared of being hurt again.

BIOGRAPHY: Lily Harriet Evans came into the world in Manchester, England, on a snowy afternoon on January 30th, just over three years after the birth of her older sister Petunia. She was the second and last child of Charles and Violet Evans, as they felt their little family was complete with two little girls. Her early childhood years were happy ones; her mother would let Petunia and she play during the daytime before they both satrted school, and then their father would come home at night to help them with their homework and read with them. Lily relished this time, and became a bit of a daddy's girl, going everywhere she could with him. One weekend when she was seven, her father took her out of the city on the Saturday night to look at the stars. However, a massive storm came over, and all Lily can remember is her father pushing her flat to the ground and seeing a bolt of light hit him. She needed stitches in her elbow, which is still scarred now, and seeing her father hit by lightning has left her permanently terrified of thunderstorms. Luckily he was ok after a couple fo weeks and returned to work, and always tries to tell Lily there's no need to be worried as it's so rare to happen twice, but it's no use.
A couple of years later, Lily began to notice she could do things other children couldn't. She could make flowers open and close, fly from the swing set and gracefully hover to the ground, make pencils float into her hand to do her homework. Petunia told their mother, who after seeing this told Lily never to do those things whilst people were around, as they wouldn't understand. The temptation was too great when in the playground, however, and it was here that Lily met her first true best friend, Severus Snape. After an initial misunderstanding, Lily later learned from Severus that she was actually a witch, just like he was a wizard. He told her stories of the magical world and Hogwarts, and she grew fascinated with the idea that she was special, just like him. The two became very close and after Lily's family received a visit from a lovely witch from the Ministry informing them of Hogwarts, the first thing Lily did was run round to tell him.
Her first few years of Hogwarts were some of the best she's had. Her time between classes was divided between studying and spending time with Severus, occasionally a mix of the two. She became known as a model student, and in Fifth Year was named Prefect. It was at this point that her relationship with the infamous Marauders became more antagonistic. She'd already put up with James Potter's pestering for over a year, and their constant pranks and bullying, but they only seemed to push her more knowing her follow Prefect - Remus - was in their ranks. Her temper finally snapped when she spotted Severus being hung in the air by James, and she stormed over to his defense, fully prepared to withdraw her own wand if necessary. However, she found herself thrown back when Severus used the one word he had always promised he wouldn't; he called her a Mudblood. Though angry at first, she stormed off to the dorm rooms and proceeded to cry for over an hour, with Mary Macdonald telling her he obviously wasn't worth the tears, and sending Severus away when he came to the Common Room to try to apologise.
Her parents noticed the change that summer. Previously she and Severus would spend days meeting up to do homework, wandering around Manchester and Spinner's End together, but she didn't see him once that holiday. They asked once, and Lily's reaction made sure they didn't ask again. Returning for her Sixth Year, Lily made a conscious choice to spend more time with her Gryffindor classmates, and as a result grew more of a fondness for the Marauders than she had had before. Partly due to Remus' influence, she turned from arguments and punishments to banter and sarcastic wit. It was a subtle change, but one she noticed more as time went on, especially where one Marauder in particular was concerned.
Now in her Seventh Year and Head Girl, Lily is beginning to notice the divide growing between students who support different sides in what seems to be an impending war, and she knows which side she will take.
SAMPLE POST: For the end of the school year, it was unseasonably miserable at Hogwarts. Though in May and June you hardly expected days with hours of bright warm sunshine and clear blue skies, there was still some sense that summer loomed in the air and was swiftly approaching. It normally sent a buzz around the school, the collective student excitement at the knowledge that after the last few tests and exams of the year, they would be free to go home and spend lazy summer days procrastinating homework assignments and soaking up the sunshine before the autumnal journey back to school. A little rain wasn’t unheard of, but this...this was quite simply ridiculous.
As Lily Evans glanced nervously up to the sky, she felt a sudden pang of regret for not bringing any waterproofs with her to Herbology today. The greenhouses were a fair walk from the castle, and Professor Sprout never brought her classes within the castle walls. Plants simply couldn’t thrive in that dim light, she argued. Even two hours would stunt their growth. Lily herself wasn’t entirely convinced, but she was hardly one to argue with Professors. So, she had gotten herself outside and trudged through the dewy Grounds to attend class, a task about half the normal attendees had apparently deemed unnecessary given the forecast of rain that afternoon. The redhead, however, had never missed a class in six years – forcing herself to attend even when shaking with the flu in Fourth Year after getting hit in the face by a barrage of snowballs from Slytherin students – and she certainly didn’t plan on picking up the habit so close to her end-of-year exams. Her NEWTs were next year, after all, and getting a good head start never hurt.
They were currently pruning the young seedlings of three varieties of Flesh-Eating Trees following the guidelines in their textbook, and in her moment of distraction Lily felt a sharp scratch of her left wrist. She let out a cry of surprise, before looking down to see the sharp row of teeth of one of the leaf buds stained red. Her emerald eyes traced back to her wrist, finding a small hole where it had obviously decided it was time for lunch. Narrowing her eyes, she picked up her pruning shears with purpose, and swiftly removed the offended branch.
“That’ll teach you,” she admonished under her breath, just as Professor Sprout called an end to their class. She carefully set each of her seedlings back to their spot in the greenhouse before packing up her things, wincing as – focusing on not shuffling her note pages – she heard heavy rain drops begin to patter on the roof. Fantastic, she thought to herself with a sigh, shaking her head slightly. Slinging her bag over her shoulder, she followed the rest of her classmates to the exit, wincing as she saw everyone lifting their robes over their heads and making speedy ways back to the castle. She’d never been a fan of storms, and thanked Merlin that – at least as of yet – there had been no thunder and lightning. Resolving to get the journey over with, the Gryffindor took a breath and strolled straight out into the steadily heavier rain, feeling the water soak through her outer robes as she reached the main castle doors. Knowing the fireplace at least would be stoked, she made her way straight to the Common Room, wiping wet strands of copper away from where they had stuck to her face in the hurry to get back indoors.
And, of course, to top it all off as she entered, she caught sight of the one person she didn’t want to be dealing with when already in a somewhat unpleasant mood. Raising a finger as if silencing a small child, she gave James a stare with daggers, knowing full well the state she was in with water dripping from the tips of her hair and eyelashes and black robes hanging from her form.
“Not a word, Potter,” she warned. “Not. A. Word. Ok?”
