Narcissa Cassiope Black
INTRODUCTIONS
FULL NAME: Narcissa Black
NICKNAMES: Cissy, Cissa
AGE: 17
ALLEGIANCE: Death Eater Cause
PROFESSION OR YEAR GROUP: Seventh
SKIN DEEP
DESIRED PB: Teresa Palmer
HEIGHT: 5 foot 4
KEY FEATURES: Black family looks, ‘I smell dirt’ expression
DESCRIPTION:
Cissa would describe herself first and foremost as exceptionally attractive. Aristocratic good looks ran in the family, as did haughty arrogance. Fair skinned and fair haired, uncharacteristically so for her family, Narcissa had always thought herself beautiful. As a child her father always told her she was truly a princess and she spent all her life maintaining her regal look. She dresses very smartly, always, and would never allow someone to see her ‘casual’. Her appearance was of upmost importance and she spent a great deal of time on it, but even beneath all that she did hold natural beauty.
Many may have thought her beauty blemished a tad by her often sour expression. Cissa is incredibly proud, haughty and has a superiority complex. Her upbringing taught her she was naturally above her peers and being around people of a lower standing made her feel she had to express her distaste often turning her nose up rather obviously.
PERSONALITY
LIKES: The finer things in life, being part of the elite, her own reflection, being doted on and having influential power
DISLIKES: Traitors tarnishing her family name, mudbloods and halfbreeds who don’t know their place, having to eat and mingle with scum, anyone who threatens her loved ones and being seen looking less than perfect.
STRENGTHS: Magic, beauty, manipulation, love
WEAKNESSES: Prejudice, superficial and her biggest weakness is family!
BOGGART: Being alone, poor and a nobody
PATRONUS: Christmas at home
DESCRIPTION:
Cissa is a total snob. All her life, she has been aristocracy. The height of society blessed with money, power and beauty she truly grew up privileged. Her only goal in life is to better herself further to provide a similar existence for her own family. This upbringing has meant she is awfully prejudiced against those less fortunate than she. The only thing she hates more than being in the company of scum is those who bring shame on her family. Her ancestors collectively had worked hard to reach the station she found herself, she resented anyone who failed to show respect to their heritage or would sabotage that position.
Cissa may look and act the perfect lady, but she would happily break that mask to defend her loved ones. In fact, she would do anything for them. Coming from a family of talented wizards, she is more than capable of defending herself with magic although she is often underestimated and compared to her sister Bella, a formidable witch.
Narcissa believes truly that family comes first always – then station, power and reputation. The money was a plus that would come from taking care of all those. She was a firm supporter of the Death Eater cause – many of her kind were losing their influence because of a relaxed view on muggle born members of the community. Allowing cross breeding was disgusting and a dangerous tarnish to their power. She also believes in the superiority of purebloods and that far less of the ministry’s spending should go toward protection of muggles. If they are too weak to defend themselves that’s their problem.

BIOGRAPHY:
Narcissa was blessed from birth with everything she could ever want. Money, power and beauty even as a tiny infant. She was born the youngest daughter to Cygnus and Druella Black, who spoilt their baby girl rotten. Meda had it worse as the middle child and Bella was always the one they were proud of, for her own accomplishments, but it as Cissa they loved to show off. Their pretty little fair haired belle. They expected much from her sisters, but little from she. She would always be the baby.
As a daddy’s girl, Cissa inherited many of her father’s views on wizard society. Cygnus was extreme in his opinions on driving out the muggle race and keeping wizard blood pure. Druella too held the firm opinion that association with muggle born withes or blood traitors was social suicide and the worst possible insult to their family. As a child, before she really understood society, she had been scolded terribly for playing with a mudblood child on a trip to London. Cissa had been young, but she never forgot the horror in her mother’s face as she scrubber her hand and ranted about muddy stains on her baby’s fair skin. Both parents expected their daughters to firmly uphold their beliefs and keep their bloodline clean.
The spoilt upbringing she had enjoyed was a beautiful memory, but once she reached Hogwarts she realised she couldn’t intimidate her way to safety and popularity as Bella had. She found herself initially depending largely on her eldest sister to establish her position. Narcissa quickly realised that although her parents weren’t there to spoil and protect her, her name itself was powerful enough. Many girls from lesser known families clung to her for hope of advancement – everyone wanted what she had. She had her own entourage of ladder climbing attendees.
Throughout her experience at Hogwarts, many respectable gents had tried for her affections, but Cissa was determined to find someone who would provide for her and keep her in the lifestyle she had become accustomed to. She had her eye on many, and had never feared that she would find a suitable partner, but she was in no rush to settle for anything but the best. Her upbringing had lead her to expect no less.
SAMPLE:
The sun rose and everyone followed. Five girls in the dungeon of an ancient castle knew the sun had returned before they felt its rays tease their retinas. Narcissa walked straight out of her bed in a silk slip to the floor length mirror which stood in the corner of the dormitory. It was an antique piece procured by her great great ... great, and another few at that, grandmother. The carvings on the frame were magnificently intricate depicting the story of the Maiden and he snakes. It was a divine horror. As a routine, Cissa went to her ancestor’s mirror every morning and admired herself, before kissing her reflection delicately, thanking her ancestors for the genes they had bestowed upon her and praising her own beauty. She was not modest.
Once she had showered, she sat at her dressing table as her doting friends brushed her hair and she told them stories. Not everybody could be blessed with her life and Cissa was well aware that there were many less fortunate than she who must find tales of her life simply fascinating. All the girls whom she kept company were high breed aristocratic ladies, but none were as noble as she. Or as beautiful for that matter. Again, far from modest.
Cissa told them of her plans for the evening and slipped momentarily into a day dream as her excitement brewed for tonight’s events. Lucius Malfoy, the heir to the Malfoy estate and Abraxis Malfoys’ only son, had asked her to join him at his manor in Wiltshire for the evening. The invite had come during a chance encounter in Hogsmeade that weekend. It was brief but memorable, and butterflies filled her stomach at the thought.
The girls combing her hair were giggling most unladylike which snapped her sharply from her dreams. They were sharing their own plans for a night without their beautiful pack leader. A party – her cheeks flushed with anger as she heard her cousin’s name and she stood quickly, snatching the wand from her dresser and, with a sharp flick, sending the hair brush flying dramatically across the room thudding into the wall.
“Don’t you dare speak his name to me,” she demanded, “And no proper lady would be caught dead at such an event!” Sirius Black had offended an ancient name abandoning his family roots and heartlessly defying his own parents by rebelling and ultimately leaving home. Cissa wanted no more to do with him, but everywhere she turned this week all she heard was whispers of this party. The whole school it seemed would be there. What a joke. She sent her friends away to think about their error, why would noble born women associated willingly with wrongfully arrogant scum like her cousin.
The thought irritated her all day, but she soon perked up as the time came for her big date. She wore her best new robes over knee length pencil dress, with all her favourite jewellery – black family heirlooms. Bella had no interest and Meda couldn’t have them, so Cissa got to keep them all much to her delight. She had gotten permission to leave the castle for an evening and met a tiny house elf outside the front gates at six. It called itself Debbie or something, and Cissa crinkled her nose as the creature insisted she hold its hand. When she refused it grabbed her leg, much to her dismay, and with a loud pop they were at the gates of the rather impressive Malfoy Manor. The elf walked through the grounds and into the Malfoy family home, offering her a seat in the lounge to wait on master Lucius. It was a stunning room, decorated with an array of ancestors from the Malfoy line, filled with the history of an ancient family. Narcissa knew anyone this proud of their heritage was worth her time.
