KEY FEATURES: Alecto is the more physically frail twin with pale skin and a fragile frame. She also has two fading scars across her wrists that she tends to hide under sleeves or jewelry.
DESCRIPTION:
Standing at 5'6 with a slender frame Alecto has always been the smaller of the Carrow twins. Her skin is pale, bordering on sickly, with a few scars that are only noticeable to those she lets close enough to her to see. Although she has let her hair grow to her mid-back she can become easily annoyed with the thick dark brown locks, causing her to twist them up into a bun or ponytail. Alecto, much like her brother, has a unsettling air about her. Her face is often neutral and void of emotion. While her eyes differ in color than most in her family with a blue hue, they are still as piercing as ever. As for attire, she prefers a more gothic style. She doesn't spend as much time as some of her female peers do with her appearance but she is still a teenage girl and can't help but to be drawn to beautiful things.

DESCRIPTION:
Alecto may often be perceived as an unfeeling puritan. However she is not as mindless as her peers might think- but instead suffers from a lack of emotional depth and a misguided upbringing. Her family was never known for their affection or open mindedness, so it is really no surprise that Alecto has never learned to develop a true sense of sensitivity. She doesn’t carry any natural empathy or compassion for other but rather finds their pain more satisfying than their acceptance. Her beliefs are also askew with a childhood filled with nightmarish examples of social expectations. At an early age Alecto noticed that her feelings only penetrated her so deep. In all honesty, it is only her love for Amycus that has kept her from giving up on life all together. She noticed that pain only felt like a tickle to her and happiness was only as powerful as a sneeze.
However, her intelligence has landed her second in her class, and her talents for the Dark Arts have piqued the interest of the upper classmen. Obviously Alecto has proven herself as a witch, but she has yet to prove herself as a human being. Her emptiness of common emotions seems to be an enigma even to herself. Still, Alecto is not completely void. When one becomes aggressive or flirtatious towards Amycus she has been known to hex the offending member. Alecto also finds that she has a dedicated fascination with the Dark Arts, Poisons, and Medieval Torture. She sees these things as a sort of art and supports them despite her lack of passion.

BIOGRAPHY:
Pylos Carrow and Melia Aegyptos may have been forced together by their arranging families, but there were no two strangers better to be matched. Both families were fairly new in purity, wealth, and privilege- but both Pylos and Melia felt as if they deserved everything that the old families possessed. They also shared a similarity of mental ‘oddities’ that caused the couple to not only form a bond but a dedication to their beliefs that was obviously unstable, even to their fellow pure peers. Still the Carrow family rose in the ranks of high society and despite, or perhaps because, of their brutality they have become one of the most respected families in England. A few years passed before Melia discovered that she was pregnant with twins, Alecto and Amycus.
Alecto was born the first of the twins on a Midsummer’s night. She was only in the world for three minutes before her brother arrived and only when he was placed next to her would she cease her wailing. It would seem that even in the womb the siblings had formed a bond not unlike their parent’s, though despite popular belief Alecto has never felt romantic feelings towards Amycus or has sensed that sort of love from him either. The twins were raised mainly by the house elves or the staff of Carrow manor. Alecto found this more amusing than lonely as she often found pleasure in torturing her caregivers. At an early age Alecto noticed that she held no affection, or any deep emotion, towards anyone but Amycus and would often test the depths of her emptiness.
She would steal cleaning supplies from the staff and lace their food with it, place needles in the shoes of her nurses, and when she was seven she stabbed on of the house elves in the temple with the sharp end of one of her toys. There was no remorse, sadness, or even anger- just a developing fascination with the dead. Unlike Amycus who seemed to thrive in the torturing of others, Alecto seemed more interested in what occurred after they were already dead. She would watch Amycus kill small animals then she would experiment with their bodies- wanting to understand why something died, where did it go when you killed it, or how much did it take to kill something.
At the age of eleven Alecto was accepted to Hogwarts and sorted into Slytherin. Her first year was her most difficult as it was the first time she had a measure of limited time with Amycus, given their separate genders. The twins soon came up with an understanding that if one needed the other during the night they would meet in the common room. For Alecto, who was a known insomniac, this was important. However, as Alecto came to know her female peers she found some kindred spirits and eventually came to find acceptance within her house. She still clung to Amycus but now didn’t rely solely on him. As the years rolled on she thrived in Defense Against the Dark Arts and Potions, coming in second of her class. Aside from her scheduled academics Alecto also began to dabble in the Dark Arts and developing undetected Poisons.
Alecto has now entered her seventh year and though she has found no more depth to hollowed heart, she has found a new fascination. The whispers and promises of a new wizard called the Dark Lord has been enticing to her. She is interested in the ideal of someone who understands Amycus and herself- someone who would not be afraid or try to control them. She has been trying to talk Amycus into joining as she would never go anywhere without him. However, she wonders if she can wait that long before taking the mark herself.
SAMPLE POST:
The sun had fallen hours before Alecto found herself wandering through her family’s manor. She had always had trouble sleeping throughout the night and even more so during the Holidays when her parent’s endless socializing were heightened. Beneath her dark locks she could hear their drunken cackles across the hallway followed by the horrid scream of whatever muggle they had brought back for entertainment. She closed her blue eyes at the sound and swayed as if were music in the air as she passed them, continuing down the main stair case. Cold wood burned her bare feet but Alecto barely noticed the temper change. Along with her slight insomnia she had also always had difficulty feeling things- emotionally or physically.
Alecto’s goal had been the kitchen for a midnight snack. She lit up the nearly void room and made a beeline for a bowl of cherries on the counter. As she ingested some of the red fruit slowly she could still hear the sounds from upstairs. It made her wonder if Amycus was awake too, if he was enjoying the sickening screams too. Alecto placed the pits of the cherries on the counter in a circular fashion before making her way back through the darkness of her childhood home. Once she had reached a heavy door near the basement she unlocked it with her wand and slipped inside. There she could see her brother’s shadowed frame near his bedside but soon realized that something wasn’t right with his skin.
She could see dark spots tainting various sections of his face and arms- causing her to smile when she realized that it was blood. Sitting at the corner of his bed Alecto scooped some of the fresh liquid off his shoulder with her finger before placing it on her tongue. ”Can I see the body?” She asked him calmly as she took her wand in hand again to perform a cleansing spell. Once Amycus was clean again her thoughts went back to the tortured muggle above them and looked vacantly towards the heavy door. ”I can’t sleep when they scream….” She said and felt her twin place his arm around her in a brotherly fashion before offering to show her what he had done.
